The Science behind orangetheory fitness
One of the things that sets us apart is our focus on the science behind fitness, this forms an important aspect of your experience. EPOC, or “excess post-exercise oxygen consumption”, is a natural reaction in the human body that our exercises are designed to evoke. We call it AFTERBURN. After you finish your workout, your body will utilize an increased amount of energy that helps you to burn calories for between 24 to 36 hours after the workout. With our heart-rate monitoring system, our trainers ensure that your heart rate is at the optimum level for your age, fitness level and experience, meaning that everyone from beginners to experienced athletes can achieve the same AFTERBURN.
